Product Details: Vinyl ESD mat provides excellent electrical, and ergonomic comfort that only foam material can provide. This three layer design is suited for use as an ESD-Safe bench mat or tray mat. Grounding: This material must be properly grounded for optimum electrical performance. You may use our grounding cord. Cleaning: Do not use cleaners with silicone. Silicone buildup will create an insulative film on the surface. It is resistant to degradation by inorganic acids, organic acids, reducing agents, Aliphatic hydrocarbons, mineral oil, aldehydes, and amines. What is ESD? Static, formally referred to as electrostatic charge, arises from excess of electrons on one surface and a deficiency on the other. The imbalance of electrons thus causes an electrical field that is capable of influencing other objects at a distance. The charge will remain in place unless it has a path through which it can flow. It may remain in place for some time and this gives rise to the term "static electricity". The word static simply means the charge cannot be equalized or transferred through electromotive force until there is a decrease in the capacitance between two objects. The surfaces on which the charge builds up may be considered as a capacitor. What is ESD-Safe? Static dissipative materials are able to conduct electricity, but do so very slowly. Any built-up static charges dissipate without sudden discharge that can harm the internal structure of silicon circuits. Protection against ESD is required during production, storage, and shipping stages of sensitive electronic components. ESD can damage or cause defects in electronic products, electronic component such as Surface Mount Device components and failure in Printed Circuit Boards. Damage from ESD during mobile phone repairing is very common.

Meets the ESD work surface requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 and recommendation of ESD S4.1.

The Top Layer is made of durable vinyl, it highly conductive carbon middle layer provides a quick discharge path to the ground. The Dissipative Bottom Layer provides excellent protection against physical damage. Construction heat fused vinyl composite, Thickness 0.125" (3.2mm), Hardness 45 Shore “A”, per ASTM-D412.

Tensile Strength greater than 300 PSI, per ASTM-D412, Tear Strength greater than 80 lbs/inch, per ASTM-D624.

Abrasion Resistance greater than 750 cycles, per Tabor-CS17, Heat Resistance -20°F to 140°F continuous.

Low Profile Ground Point has a low profile design and comes with 10mm snaps. They are made from rugged vinyl and come standard with 7’ cords. Meets or exceeds requirements of ANSI ESD-S20.20 and ANSI/ESD S-6.1. These low profile ground cords attach to ESD Snap sockets that are placed into an ESD Mat.
